Donor Recognition
Shelter Partnership’s 20th Annual Dinner held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles was a huge success, raising more than $335,000! This year, we honored Stephen W. Mayberg, Ph.D., the Director of the California Department of Mental Health and is responsible for the implementation of the Mental Health Services Act that the voters enacted in November 2004. We also honored Sheriff Lee Baca for his leadership and commitment to implementing innovative multi-disciplined solutions to solve homelessness among those vulnerable individuals involved in our community's criminal justice system. Finally, we presented Harry Pregerson with the Tom Bradley Lifetime Achievement Award, for his advocacy on behalf of the homeless, with a special focus on those who have served in our armed forces. Fritz Coleman, Weathercaster for KNBC-TV, was our Master of Ceremonies, and comedian Dom Irrera gave an upstanding performance!
